Congratulations MSU Fencers at the Fight of the Living Dead!

First off, let me congratulate everybody who took part in our Novice event. We were all proud of what we saw, and had comments from the other clubs who showed up about our fencers; so good job! Especially congratulations to Kyle Margolies for taking silver and John Palm for taking bronze.

As usual, MSU dominated the other events as well, so congratulations to all the fencers who placed. In grand total we kept 10 of 12 medals at home from this tournament (counting YungBen...who is still an MSU fencer as far as I'm concerned).

The final results for the other events were as follows:

Equipment Checkout

We'll be checking out equipment on Monday Sept. 14th. Please, please, please make it to club if at all possible so that we can check out all the gear at one time instead of trickling it out over 2 weeks.

Congratulations to MSU Fencers at the U of M Summer Blades Competition

Congratulations to everybody who went to U of M and claimed us 5 of 9 medals awarded (2 gold, 3 silver)!

Fencing Club on Labor Day

We will still have fencing club on Labor Day. We will not have beginner's class because we don't know how many people will or will not show up. We'd like to keep everybody on the same page, so we won't be holding a large group teaching session. If you're a beginner, you're still welcome to show up to practice. Dig out some rope, bring a partner, and practice your distance exercises if you want to! If you're off in the woods fending off bears, traveling to exotic lands, or just recovering from the long weekend, we're not going to hold it against you if you decide not to show up :D.

Catapalooza 2009

To all of the new and returning students at MSU who visited us at our booth during Catapalooza this past week, thanks!
